The end of the year is always an opportunity and a good time to reflect on the past 12 months. In doing so, let us turn our hearts to Psalm 9:1.
“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvellous works.”
This psalm serves as a reminder of God's unwavering love and faithfulness. Throughout the year, we may have faced challenges and uncertainties, but God has been our constant source of strength and hope.
Let us take this opportunity to express our gratitude for His blessings.
We can praise God for His unconditional love, for His continued grace and forgiveness, for the many blessings we received, for the growth in our faith, for our congregational life, for many wonderful moments in the divine services with the highlight of the Chief Apostle service for our youth, for our promised future and many things more.
We can also praise Him for lessons we learned and setbacks, as this allowed us to experience in those moments that prayer works. We might not have always received what we asked for, but always what we needed to grow in our faith.
In looking back, we can acknowledge His power and mercy, His wisdom and faithfulness.
We also want to self-reflect on where we stand towards Him. The gratitude for all the things God did for us this past year will allow us to be willfully obedient and to further grow into the example which was given by the Lord Jesus with earnest endeavour.
This will encourage us to be a living testimony of God’s love and grace, through which we can shine in the world and tell of all His marvellous works.
