WE CARE

Within the congregation, there are diverse groups with diverse needs.  New Apostolic Church offers care for all souls.   Our ministers proclaim and advocate the gospel of Christ to each diverse group.  Through listening, sympathizing with personal concerns and praying, our ministers provide soul care.  One feels loved because someone cares.  This is comforting and brings about peace and courage to carry on.  Soul care is also about sharing faith and knowledge to help each person grow in faith.

RADIATING THE PEACE OF THE RISEN ONE INTO THE BEYOND
 JULY 2020
Posted by: District Evangelist Arnaud Martig

As we are about to experience the second divine service for the departed of 2020, we propose to pause a moment and reflect on the meaning of such a service and how we can help our Lord fulfil His mission.

A divine service for the departed may trigger many memories, many emotions, as we remember our loved ones who have already gone into the beyond. We may still feel the void created by the separation. And as years go by, the number of our connections in the beyond continues to increase.

But a divine service for the departed is not a sad moment. As we all rejoice when a young couple brings their newborn child to be baptised in the congregation, or when an adult decides for the Lord and is sealed by an Apostle, similarly a divine service for the departed is a joyful celebration of life!

HIS LOVE
JULY 2020
Posted by: District Elder James Griesbaum

On June 21, 2020, we celebrate Father’s Day. This day is a day of celebration and remembrance. We bring our thanks, honour, and praise to our fathers in appreciation for all that they have done for us. For many of us, our fathers cared for our well being, loved and protected us, taught us, and served as a role model for our future life.

The special attributes of a father are clearly outlined in the parable of “The Prodigal Son” as described in Luke 15: 11-32. In this parable, the younger of two sons requests to receive his half of his father’s estate (inheritance) early. We do not know what the father’s thoughts and feelings were when he heard this request, but in his love, he gives in and the son takes his inheritance and goes away to live in a foreign land.

We have heard many times that God is love and God’s love is all-encompassing. This love of God has revealed itself since the beginning. We have known it, received it, and experienced it in so many ways that it is impossible to keep count. The greatest and most far-reaching part of this love is that God offers it freely to all of humankind and substantiates it with the offer of salvation.

The Bible tells us that the love of God was poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit; this is when the fruit of the spirit begins to develop within us (CNAC 8.3.9). As this development takes place, we become more and more like Christ.

Kindness and Goodness are both very unique elements of spiritual fruit. The very fact that they are referenced as spiritual fruit places their origin in the triune God.
