Within the congregation, there are diverse groups with diverse needs.  New Apostolic Church offers care for all souls.   Our ministers proclaim and advocate the gospel of Christ to each diverse group.  Through listening, sympathizing with personal concerns and praying, our ministers provide soul care.  One feels loved because someone cares.  This is comforting and brings about peace and courage to carry on.  Soul care is also about sharing faith and knowledge to help each person grow in faith.

Once again, let us reflect on this year’s motto, “Christ, our future.” Christ makes it possible for us to reach this future. It is wonderful to be a future-oriented people. That is the beauty of being youthful. Young people have a wide-open view towards the future with all its possibilities.

No matter our age or our circumstances we can look towards the future with confidence knowing Christ has elected me! As our Chief Apostle served in the very first service of this year “Jesus Christ initiated this calling in full awareness of who we are, He did not make a mistake when He called you and me. He also will give us the strength and energy to reach this goal.”

PALM SUNDAY - RECOGNIZING AND FOLLOWING CHRIST

“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!” Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: “Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.” – John 12: 12-16

In the teaching of Christianity, Palm Sunday represents the revelation of Jesus Christ as the Messiah. His triumphal entry into Jerusalem at the Passover celebration was ushered in with shouts of “Hosanna!”, meaning “Save now”. This began Jesus’ journey to the cross where ironically the original shouts of celebration ended up as the tragic calls of, “Crucify Him!”

As I start this article, I would like to begin with a fact. All of us as humans in the course of our lives have been offended, hurt, treated unfairly, or experienced injustice. We need to realize that we have also done the very same to others. I would like to be able to say absolutely not, but that would simply not be true.

In the last few years, we have heard in almost every divine service to love our neighbour as ourselves. The really sad part is, most of us do not fully comprehend the fullness of this statement and what is required of us.
