JESUS AT CHRISTMAS: BLESSINGS, ANGELS, LOVE
Posted by: Bishop Jonathan Sturm

God’s greatest gift, His Son Jesus Christ, inspires profound thankfulness at Christmas time.  Who said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”? (cf. Acts 20: 35)  The answer is: Jesus!  He gives great advice to make this Christmas a special one.  If you get lots, give more.  If you get little, giving even a little more will bring you blessings of peace and joy.

Here are a few other things Jesus said that can apply at Christmas:

“…little ones…[your] angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.”
(cf. Matthew 18: 10)

Children, did you see angels in the Christmas story play? They were really happy when Jesus was born and helped people find baby Jesus. Angels are real. Yours is a gift for you. You and your angel can be happy when you help people believe in Jesus like you do!

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
(John 13: 35 NLT)

Adults, Christmas is a time for powerful love. Loving our family, friends, strangers and even enemies, as Jesus did, can make our spirits soar. Let us prove to the world that Jesus is our King, Redeemer, and Saviour by loving others more than we have been loved.

Merry Christmas! May the peace of Jesus powerfully uplift you and everyone with whom you share this blessed season.
