Margaret Ave - Retirement Service

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, Deacon Richard Bohnsack and Priest Michael Bernt of the Margaret Avenue congregation were retired from their ministries by their Rector, Shepherd Lindner, as commissioned by the Apostle Sobottka.

Deacon Bohnsack had served in his ministry for 22 years, often having many in his home for fellowship and assisting with the care of the Chinese members.

Priest Bernt, a Deacon for six years and a Priest for 13 years, had a special connection with all those in his pastoral care. He made regular family visits, including those in the hospital, as well as he and his wife having many in their home for fellowship.

Shepherd Lindner, on behalf of the District Apostle and Apostle, as well of the members in the congregation, thanked them both for their activity, loving care and support for God’s children. He also wished them a healthy, full and blessed retirement. Following that he then invited their wives to join them at the altar to receive a small gift and floral bouquet.
