Margaret Ave - Father's Day

On Father's Day, June 17, 2018, District Apostle Woll conducted divine service in the Margaret Ave church. Before the divine service, there was a special Father's Day fellowship out on the patio of a delicious breakfast.  Each father received a gift of homemade barbeque sauce to take home with them.

For the divine service, the District Apostle used a Bible text from Luke 12:49-50: I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!

The District Apostle explained that the "fire" is the word of God, and the love of God for humankind is the warmth that comes from the fire. When this fire is alive in us, we will experience and feel its warmth. The congregation was encouraged to continue to pray, to come to the divine services, to study the word, and to offer and sacrifice. All of these things are necessary to keep the fire burning.

In this divine service, the congregation was also joyful to witness the Holy Sealing of three children. What a blessed Sunday!
