Kitchener Central - Project Mitten

Christmas is a time of giving, and following their 2014 Christmas program that's exactly what the member's of Kitchener Central did. Approximately 280 mittens, scarves and hats were donated to a representative of the local chapter of Family and Children's Services in order to keep those less fortunate in their community a little warmer over the holiday season.

This specific initiative in the Kitchener Central congregation all started with a visit to Family and Children's services by their Sunday School - here the children learned that many children and youth within our their own community go without basic clothing items in the winter season. It was out of this realization that "Project Mitten" was hatched! For two weeks leading up to their Christmas program the congregation was asked to donate mittens, scarves and hats.

To assist in the cause, NAC Canada pre-ordered a bulk number of "Canada" themed mittens and distributed them across the country to each congregation in order that they, too, may help those less fortunate in their community by commencing "Project Mitten".

Thanks to the wonderful grace of God and the kind-loving hearts of our members, many will not only feel the warmth of a few winter accessories, but more so the warmth that emanates from the hearts of our brothers and sisters across Canada!
