THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
Posted by: Bishop Jonathan Sturm

Many Christians will go to church this Easter to celebrate Jesus’ miraculous resurrection from death, the moment that changed the world. History reveals a few others that came back to life but not one of them stayed that way. Only Jesus came back to life – and remained with the resurrection body.

Out of the depths of your feelings, do you really believe Jesus rose up from the grave? If you have doubts, you would have fit in with Apostle Thomas who also had doubts. ”Jesus said to him ‘Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’.”  (John 20: 29 NKJV)

Even doubters can become believers that change the world. It is never too late for anyone as we see with Apostle Thomas who is traditionally recognized as bringing Christianity to India almost 2,000 years ago!1

If you do believe, you are like many Christians around the world who feel blessed in their lives to know and believe in Jesus Christ. You probably also feel He changed your world for the better.  Change is constant; we must continue to change, grow, and develop.

This world will face a greater change when Jesus Christ fulfills His promise “When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” (John 14: 3 NLT)

Our goal remains to prepare for Christ’s return.  Through the rebirth in the Baptism with water and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, by hearing and doing His word, by partaking worthily in Holy Communion, we thereby allow the inner change to take place towards Christ’s image.  This remains the most important change for us.

As believing New Apostolic Christians, we can testify that our faith in Christ’s resurrection and the following of His teaching leads to a deeply meaningful life today and in the future.  We continue as stated in Acts 2: 42 “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (NKJV)
