Pre-Sunday School

New Apostolic Church offers care for young children.

Pre-Sunday School is available where there are pre-school age children in the congregations. Typically, Pre-Sunday School is conducted before Sunday divine service. The objective of Pre-Sunday School is to welcome the youngest children (ages 4-6) into the warm environment of the Sunday School. Our young children are made to feel secure and loved while talking about God and Jesus Christ at their level of understanding. Our young children can then feel God's love and the love of the congregation as seeds of faith are planted into their hearts. Matthew 19:14 "Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Sunday School

New Apostolic Church offers care for children.

Sunday school is taught for children of school age (ages 7-10). Typically, Sunday School is conducted before Sunday divine service. Children spend an hour together each Sunday to learn in a loving environment. They make new friends and participate in activities that address different learning styles to meet the needs of the children. Sunday school children grow in their appreciation of fellowship and God's promises. They come to know and understand what it means to be a Christian through hearing the stories of Jesus Christ. Sunday school is not only about acquiring biblical knowledge but also connecting with the childrens' personal experiences and stage of life. Teachers encourage parental participation in developing the faith of the children. Mark 9:37 "Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives ME, receives not Me but Him who sent Me."

Religious Instruction

New Apostolic Church offers care for preteens.

The most senior children (ages 11-13) in the congregation participate in Religious Instruction classes. Typically, Religious Instruction is conducted Sunday morning prior to the divine service. The subject matter advances concepts and stories taught in Sunday school and increases the tween's knowledge of the bible and the history of Christianity. In Religious Instruction class, tweens connect themselves with God's plan of salvation and also begin to find their place as contributors to God's work of redemption. Concepts of faith are spoken openly in greater depth and values are shared such as forgiveness, thankfulness and professing one's faith. 3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Confirmation

New Apostolic Church offers care for emerging youth.

When a child reaches the age of 12, a special development begins to take place. With maturity comes the responsibility to understand what one's faith means and a deeper investigation into what one believes in order that one can come to profess and confirm one's faith.  Confirmation Instruction turns the focus on confirming one's faith after reflection, understanding and ultimately conviction to remain faithful and walk in the ways of Jesus Christ. After this instruction, children can choose to confirm their faith in a special divine service before God and the congregation. In this confirmation, adolescents make a vow of faithfulness and take on the full responsibility for their life of faith. Children move gently into spiritual adulthood where their appreciation of their faith increases along with their commitment to living a life according to the example of Jesus Christ.
