French African Focus Weekend in Sudbury, ON
April 7-8, 2012

Over the weekend of April 7 and 8, Shepherd Pembe made a visit to the French African brothers and sisters in Sudbury, ON.   The congregation did a wonderful job organizing the weekend.  Priest Hempel hosted a fellowship on Saturday where many new friends and guests were in attendance and in the evening the Shepherd, accompanied by his wife, made another visit to a new guest.

On Sunday morning, Shepherd Pembe held the divine service in French and was then translated word by word in English from the altar. Among the congregation were guests originally from Tchad and Tanzania.  After the service the Pembe’s presented two songs in African languages and the Sunday School sang two more songs using bells, which the congregation really enjoyed.  Then everyone enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner that included a discussion about our faith. The fellowship was a wonderful opportunity for the Shepherd to talk to guests individually.
