Hamilton Seniors Enjoy an Afternoon of Fellowship
    (25/08/2010) The Hamilton District seniors group enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of fellowship together at the home of the retired Apostle Horn and his wife. District Evangelist Stanford was also invited to this event and the seniors were grateful for his prayer and his "words of wisdom" which he expressed to the group.

Apostles and Bishops Meeting in Sault Ste. Marie
    (25/08/2010) District Apostle Latorcai, together with all the Apostles and Bishops and their wives from Canada, travelled to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on the weekend of August 12 to 15, for a semi-annual Apostles and Bishops Meeting. During the weekend, special moments of fellowship were enjoyed with the local Sault Ste. Marie members, as well as the priests and wives from the North Bay and Sudbury congregations.

40th Wedding Anniversary Blessing
    (25/08/2010) The Kitchener Central congregation was happy to witness a 40th Wedding Anniversary blessing for Priest (i.r.) and Sister Steikow, which took place during a divine service with Apostle Kreutner on Wednesday, August 11th.

Vacation Bible School in Cambridge, ON
    (25/08/2010) The four congregations from Cambridge held their annual Vacation Bible School during the week of July 5th to 9th. This year's theme was "Saddle Ridge Ranch – roundin’ up questions, drivin’ home answers." The children were taught that when they need answers, they can always ask God!

50th Wedding Anniversary Blessing in Sarnia, ON
    (17/08/2010) On Sunday August 8th, a festive divine service was conducted by Apostle Sobottka in the Sarnia, Ontario congregation. During the service he also bestowed a 50th wedding anniversary blessing for Priest and Sister Bourne, which created much joy in the hearts of the gathered congregation.

Combined Sunday School & Youth Activity in Guelph, ON
    (17/08/2010) On Friday, July 23rd the Sunday School and Youth of the Guelph congregation enjoyed a fun tour of the historic Guelph jail. The jail has been closed for use as a penitentiary over 10 years now but remains a well-known Guelph landmark. In recent years it has been used for many film shoots. The tour included a "behind the scenes" view of how the jail operated for many decades.

VBS 2010 in Guelph, ON
    (17/08/2010) After a week of fun during our annual Vacation Bible School in Guelph, we capped off the event with a Friday evening finale. The church was filled with family and friends and all enjoyed a BBQ dinner while the children played on the bouncy castle and other games. The evening also included a skit performed by the children, from the bible stories they learned during the week.

Seniors Outing to the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory
    (17/08/2010) A group of seniors from the Hamilton district enjoyed an afternoon together at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory on Thursday, July 15th. When they arrived, they had a light lunch together and then went on a tour of the conservatory. Afterwards they drove to the Niagara Falls church where some of the Niagara Seniors provided coffee/tea and desserts.

Seniors Milestone Birthday Celebration
    (17/08/2010) A group of seniors from the Kitchener Central and Cambridge congregations were invited to the home of Apostle and Sister Kreutner on Saturday, August 7th. The afternoon event was in celebration of 16 seniors who had or would have milestone birthdays in 2010.

Day of the Youth 2010
    (11/08/2010) Over 700 youth from across Canada participated in the annual Day of the Youth that took place at the University of Waterloo (Ontario) over the weekend of July 16 to 18, 2010. Over 130 volunteers were involved with the logistics of this great event. The weekend’s activities began already on Friday evening with an exciting performance by a leading Canadian Christian entertainer.

Newmarket Cambodian Youth Visit the Toronto Zoo
    (10/08/2010) On Monday, July 19th a group of youth from Newmarket Cambodian enjoyed an outing to the Metro Toronto Zoo. They were very happy that their district youth leader, District Evangelist Mueller, also came and shared the day with them. On the night before their visit, the youth got together and prepared chicken ceasar wraps for lunch.

Divine Service with Birthday Celebration in Toronto West
    (10/08/2010) On Sunday, July 25 Priest Kairis from Brampton held a divine service in Toronto West Spanish. This was his first time conducting a service in this congregation and it was then translated into Spanish. Everyone was happy to see the return of one of our sisters, who had been in the hospital for a few weeks and she thanked everyone for their prayers and well-wishes.

Evangelist Hirschi's 65th Birthday Celebration
    (10/08/2010) On Wednesday July 21st, the Vancouver Spanish congregation celebrated the 65th birthday of Evangelist Hirschi with a surprise birthday fellowship following the divine service held by District Evangelist Braun. During the fellowship, he cut a cake that was specially made for him, which was then shared with the congregation. He certainly was not expecting the celebration and was very appreciative for the love and best wishes he received from everyone for this milestone occasion!

Hamilton Concert to Benefit the Burlington Food Share
    (05/08/2010) On June 18th the Burlington congregation put on a benefit concert involving the Hamilton District Chamber Choir and the Hamilton District Orchestra. The concert was done in support of the Burlington Food Share and the admission was a non-perishable food item. There were almost 100 people in attendance, including the Mayor of Burlington, Cam Jackson, who is also the honourary chair of the Burlington Food Share.

Newmarket Cambodian - Vacation Bible School
    (05/08/2010) The congregation of Newmarket Cambodian put on its third annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) from July 8-11, 2010. By the grace of God and the hard work of the Sunday school team, it was a huge success! The four days were filled with a great deal of teaching, building, and many fun activities. Each day held something new and exciting for the children and also for the many dedicated and hard working helpers/teachers.

Chinese-Focus Working Team Workshop & Divine Service with Holy Sealing
    (04/08/2010) The Chinese Focus Working Team (CFWT) held its 2010 Workshop in Toronto from July 23- 25. The participants discussed various topics and ideas regarding soul care and the growth of God's work. Many creative suggestions were voiced and the team felt that the workshop was very helpful.

SSM Youth Participate in Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life
    (29/07/2010) On June 18th the Canadian Cancer Society held a “Relay for Life” in Sault Ste. Marie, ON – an all night 12-hour walk-a-thon from 7:00 p.m. Friday to 7:00 a.m. Saturday. The youth and cancer survivor members from our congregation participated in this amazing event and raised over $1200 for the Cancer Society Research and Survivor Support Service.

Retirement Weekend in Denbigh, Ontario
    (29/07/2010) Apostle Sobottka traveled to Denbigh, Ontario on the weekend of July 10 and 11, 2010, to conduct the retirement service for District Evangelist Y. Lindner, the Rector of the Denbigh congregation. Also accompanying him were Bishop Wiesel and District Elder Jess, along with the Rectors from Ottawa, Belleville and Kingston; the congregations District Evangelist Lindner also cared for.

Red Cross Presentation - Haiti Relief
    (22/07/2010) A representative from the Canadian Red Cross visited the office of the New Apostolic Church Canada to present a special plaque of appreciation. Through the generosity of the Canadian members, over $122,000 was raised for Haiti Earthquake Relief and donated to the Canadian Red Cross. These funds also qualified for matching from the Canadian Government bringing the total contribution to $244,000.00.

Multi-Congregational Sealing Service & Birthday Celebration
    (20/07/2010) On Wednesday, July 14th a multi-congregational service was held in Waterloo to celebrate the birthday of Bishop Wagner. The congregations from Guelph, Elmira and Fergus were also invited to this divine service that was conducted by Apostle Sobottka. The service also included Holy Sealing for 5 believers and concluded with singing Happy Birthday to the Bishop.
